Meet Evette Smith, FHI Clinical Manager of Global Site Management

Evette Smith, FHI Clinical Manager of Global Site Management

Evette’s first job in the clinical research industry was as a phlebotomist in a phase I clinical research unit at AAIPharma. Evette went on to work at other CROs as well as on an institutional review board (IRB). This experience, in addition to a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in project management, prepared Evette to be the manager of global site management at FHI Clinical.

Evette joined FHI Clinical in April 2020. Her team includes study-start up associates, in-house clinical research associates and the site contracts team.
Evette’s favorite part of her job — supporting her staff! “I really like getting to know people and learning about their career goals and aspirations — then finding a way to help them get there!” Evette was fortunate to have a mentor early in her career, so she knows how important this type of support can be.
Evette works hard, but tries to keep things light and not create a stressful atmosphere for her staff. “I am very charismatic — I like to make work fun!”
When asked about her pandemic lockdown experience, Evette says, “I’ve been remote since 2015, so I’m used to working from home. It really helps that the company has been so great with work schedule flexibility. I had a child at home, so I got a lot done really early in the morning, during naps and late at night.”
