In the fall of 2021, a small team from FHI Clinical headed to Liberia to meet the FHI Clinical PREVAIL network team. Upon their return from visiting Liberia and each of the network sites, we asked the team some questions about the trip and their accomplishments.
As the site manager for PREVAIL, Victor puts his empathy and passion for helping people to work by responding to operations requests, evaluating challenges, holding daily meetings with staff, and verifying and approving daily financial disbursements.
Maccarthy looks forward to working with diverse groups of people and perspectives on various issues and is passionate not only for improving human resources management but also for connecting talented individuals with a rewarding workplace.
Dr. Johnson carries the responsibility of many roles as part of the PREVAIL team, including being a licensed Liberian medical doctor and providing insights, expertise and guidance to her colleagues on a daily basis.
In this third blog post in our ASTMH blog post series, we share information about Liberia’s efforts to recover from the Ebola outbreak, including information presented by Bernice Dahn, Vice President of College of Health Sciences at the University of Liberia, at FHI Clinical’s ASTMH dinner event.
To equip Liberia with the ability to respond to ongoing health issues and potential outbreaks, a US government contract provided funding to train local leaders in Liberia’s clinical research infrastructure network. The training aimed to build a solid foundation to conduct international quality clinical research.
